In the second episode of The Launch Plan podcast, we're exploring a topic that's become even more popular in the recent times - Community Building.
What are communities? Are your 1000 True Fans your community? Is the converse true? How to NOT build a community right? What are the three things you MUST have in a community you create?
These are what we discuss inside this episode. A popular advice is to create a community with the best interests of your community in mind. And another one is to find a good platform for building your community. But how do you go about doing them?
We have (again) arguably the best person to talk about this today. He is a creator (listen to how defines this term), podcaster, community builder, and entrepreneur. Join Karthik in this conversation with Jay Clouse.
When you go into a physical space, the first thing you do is you look for somebody else. You want to feel comfortable in that space by looking around who else do I know here? Because then at a minimum you can spend time with them and that will be comfortable. The same thing happens when we enter a digital space for the first time we look around and we say, who do we know here? So I feel comfortable within this space. And a lot of people who create digital community, don't think about that entry point and the thing about digital community. If I feel uncomfortable, it is so easy to leave.I can leave immediately. I just click the red X. - Jay Clouse
